Today we went to the the “Amaizing Pet Adventure” (yes, amAIzing) at the Kersey Valley corn maze in High Point. This is a sponsored event which benefits the Guilford County Animal Shelter as well as several other rescue organizations. Part of the event is a dog show for rescued animals - Domino won “Best in Show” last year (she is still bragging about it and her vanity is embarrassing to all of us). This year we did not enter the dog show, but bought a few raffle tickets; wouldn’t you know, we won the big prize - a custom-made dog house by Dutch Barns, a local company specializing in gazebos and storage buildings.
Well, we decided that Domino would be an even bigger braggart if we let her have her own custom-made house, so we decided to donate it to the Rockingham County Animal Shelter (http://www.rockinghamcountyanimalshelter.org/), which is desperately in need of funding. Hopefully they can turn it around into a profit and help some more dogs get a second chance.
