Hope had another good weekend. She is walking and playing like a normal puppy. She is very well-behaved, her only downfall being an odd appetite for napkins and dryer sheets. She has never had an accident in the house.
Hope has a big week coming up. Tomorrow marks three weeks since her surgery, and on Tuesday she will have her splint removed. She also may get some standard blood tests and vaccines, a microchip, and possibly her spaying - our vet will advise us at Tuesday’s check-up.
Yesterday, when a neighbor came over, we learned that Hope is protective of us. We have had guests before, and Hope has been perfectly friendly, but in this particular instance she made a low, quiet rumbling sound and wouldn’t take her eyes off of him. She didn’t seem violent or terribly upset, just cautious. We have no idea why she found him threatening, other than the fact that he’s quite tall. She did let him pet her and eventually calmed down.
